In order to open DOCX files within Microsoft Word 2003, you will need to download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en&pf=true

This is a free download and is only necessary if you use Microsoft Office 2003.
